Triathlon number two

Adam braved his second triathlon and this time in the pouring rain! Actually his good friend Brannick asked if he would do a relay triathlon with him so Adam just did the running part of it. I don't think he was feeling super excited about the lake swim anyway. Our friend Eliza braved that part of it for the guys instead. Kudos to her because she did awesome even after getting kicked in the face!

Getting ready for Brannick to come in on his bike

Even though it was pouring rain, the boys were so excited to see their dad in a race!
It was so much fun to watch him approach the finish line because he was neck and neck with another competitor and they both gave it their all on the home stretch. Adam took him by just a few strides. You can barely see the other guy on the other side of Adam. Just as they crossed the finish line, the other guy slipped on the wet grass and grabbed onto Adam for support, nearly taking them both down. What a finish!
Hail the conquering heros! I say that in jest but actually they did get first place in the relay.

It was actually a clean sweep for the LDS that day because Emily (not featured here), Brannicks wife, one first place in the womens division - a huge accomplishment, and Tim Harker, a 16 yr old youth, was the overall triathlon winner. He was at least three minutes ahead of every other competitor. Hmmmm, I wonder if that has anything to do with a little thing we like the call the Word of Wisdom.
