Getting our groove on

A few weeks ago some friends of mine had the brillant idea to do the opposite of a daddy/daughter dance and instead have a mother/son dance. It actually ended up being more of a mother/child dance but it was so much fun. Before we got there, I had imagined that my boys would feel pretty shy about dancing and opt to observe more than anything. But it was actually the complete opposite, they couldn't wait to get on the dance floor and show off their moves. They danced for a full hour and a half! The funniest thing of all though was that there were two little girls there, sisters, that both Calvin and Landon paired off with. They twirled them all around the room. They even asked me the proper way to "slow dance" and then promptly took that knowledge back to use on their newfound friends. Both boys were pretty downhearted when after about four songs, I "forced" them to come back and dance with me. After the dance the boys were admit that I had to set up a playdate with the girls and in Calvin's words " really, really, REALLY soon. Like tomorrow."Here's Landon bustin' a move on the dance floor.

Here's where the boys discovered the girls, Riley and Madison. Notice the giant smiles on their faces!

They also enjoyed switching partners back and forth. But the girls never danced with anyone else. It was such a riot to watch but luckily there has been no mention of girls since then.

So your boys are breaking hearts already. Just like their mom. Who would think that boys that age would even know what slow dancing was. Scary, but way cute. Love ya.
